A Baby Shower Treat! - Cookies on a Stick

For my Boss's Baby Shower I volunteered to make cookies, I wanted to make them nice and special and as it was my first attempt at being really creative with cookies I needed the right tools and ingredients to make the project work and make it work well, so after much research for the perfect recipe and some shopping and some help from a very talented friend for the tags that would go on the bag may cookie day began at 6.30 a.m!!

it took me approxomately 8 hrs to complete this project as I decided to vary the decorations with fondant icing, regular icing and chocolate..

Overall I was pleased with the outcome and had many, many satisfied receipients and requests to make more..

Homemade Sausage Rolls!

Craving this savory treat is something that happens alot in our household since moving to the USA from England in 2004! - We miss being able to drop by the nearest bakey and being able to pick up a sausage roll or two!

This is a simple recipe and one that satisfies the craving..

Ingredients
1 (16 ounce) package pork sausagemeat
1 (17.25 ounce) package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
tiny pinch of Rubbed sage for each one
1 beaten egg

Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Unfold the puff pastry sheets, and cut along the fold lines of each sheet to form 6 equal squares for a total of 12 squares. Brush each square with mustard. Divide sausage into 12 pieces, and roll into small logs. Place one log on each square. Roll dough around the sausage, add tiny pinch of sage and seal with a bit of beaten egg. Place rolls onto an ungreased baking sheet, and brush the tops with the rest of the egg.
Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the rolls are puffed and golden. I usually watch after 10 minutes or so to make sure they don't burn. These freeze (unbaked) very well.
